Q&A with SperryCGA
Mark is an 18-year veteran of the CRE industry and founder of Griffin Partners. His experience ranges from light industrial land development consulting to investment advisory and general brokerage on both the tenant and owner sides. We took a few minutes to chat about the benefits he sees from leveraging Reonomy and why it is his one-stop shop for all things CRE.
“Reonomy has given us insight into subsidiary markets that were previously inaccessible to us, allowing our firm to expand its breadth of coverage across the region.”
Tell us a little bit about what you do:
Mark: Our team has a hand in quite a few aspects of commercial real estate. As a local affiliate of a national organization (Sperry CGA) we do a bit of commercial property management, tenant, owner and landlord brokerage representation, specializing mostly in the light industrial space. We have been focusing on building our pipeline and relationships in our local area, Greenville, SC.
How has Reonomy impacted your business?
Mark: We started as a local Greenville area firm, focusing strictly mainly on light industrial. We built strong relationships with owners over the years and developed a local expertise for the properties in our market. But after signing up with Reonomy a little over a year ago, we have since expanded into the larger Winston-Salem, Charlotte and Atlanta markets. Reonomy has given us insight into subsidiary markets that were previously inaccessible to us, allowing our firm to expand its breadth of coverage across the region. As a small brokerage, going from a local brokerage to a regional brokerage has been huge. This growth was made possible by Reonomy’s comps tool, which has allowed us to have on-the-ground context without actually being right there. We recently landed a listing in the Winston-Salem area that we definitely would not have gotten without the Reonomy comps tool.
What is most important to you in a data solution?
Mark: Reonomy has definitely helped us in our day-to-day workflow. I am able to do everything from research to project management within the app. As a business owner, I don’t have 8 hours a day to spend prospecting, so it’s essential that I have one system that allows me to manage it all.
Overall, I’ve been able to reduce my research time by almost 60%. With the labels tool, I am able to pull, organize, and track different lists of properties over time. The notes tool is also valuable for me since I can add notes to properties I’ve flagged and refer back to them whenever I need. Productivity doubles when I can quickly build lists and trust the information in them. Exporting lists for postcards and mailers is an added bonus, helpful for when I need to conduct broad outreach.
